Housing Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal wants to dedicate next year as the national year of parental guidance, control and supervision. Moonilal expressed this desire as he commented on the concerns expressed about the numerous reports of violence and abuse against children, during a Christmas treat in his constituency of Oropouche East on Tuesday. Speaking with reporters at Cuchawan Trace, Debe, Moonilal said he distributed thousands of toys and hampers to his constituents for the Yuletide season.

“I will like to join with other members of the Government and the Prime Minister in reinforcing the importance of parental guidance, supervision and control. I think next year should be a national year of parental guidance, supervision and control where parents must know where their children are at all times.” He said fathers and mothers must take control and be responsible for the lives of their children.

Moonilal sent a special message to fathers to step up to the plate. “Be a real father, not just in a biological sense, but be responsible in the household and community.”
