Three men–two aged 33 and a 17-year-old–were arrested after a high-speed chase from La Horquetta to Diego Martin last Thursday.The victim of a housebreaking managed to untie himself and called the Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) after two men broke into his girlfriend's Jacaranda Road, La Horquetta, home around 10 pm.The men, one of whom had a gun, slapped the man and tied up everyone in the house before robbing the household of cash, electronic items, appliances and tools, which included a weedwacker.
The men escaped in a brown Nissan B-14 and a green Almera. Police spotted the cars and chased them from the La Horquetta to St Lucien Road, Diego Martin. The NDTF officers contacted their colleagues at the Western Division Task Force, who joined the chase and cornered the men in Diego Martin around 12.05 am on Friday.The men, a 33-year-old from Richplain, Diego Martin, and the other two from L'Anse Mitan Road, Carenage, were arrested and are to be placed on identification parades.
In an unrelated incident members of the North Division, under the supervision of Snr Supt David Abraham and Supt Hosein, between 11 pm on Thursday and 6 am Friday arrested four men for possession of two guns and ten rounds of ammunition.
The men, who live at Mt Plasir Road, Cunupia, and Bushe Street, Curepe, were held with a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol and seven rounds of ammunition and a .380 Berretta and three rounds of ammunition. Police were tipped off that the men had the guns and went in search of them at Mt Plasir, Cunupia.Police also held four men in connection with the discovery of 125 grammes of marijuana in Curepe and one suspected sexual offender at Bamboo No 3, Valsayn.
