Man charged for sex with sister, 10
An 18-year-old man was denied bail yesterday after appearing in court charged with two sex attacks against his mother and ten-year-old sister. The man, of Esmeralda Village, California, who cannot be named so as to protect the victims’ identities, appeared before Senior Magistrate Lucina Cardenas-Ragoonanan in the Couva Magistrates Court charged with incest against his sister and committing an act of serious indecent assault against his mother. He was not called upon to plead to the charges, as they were laid indictably.
The man is accused of having sexual intercourse with his sister on a date unknown between 2012 and December last year. He is also accused of attacking his mother at their home in August last year. The man was arrested by Insp Susan John and detectives of the Couva CID at his home on Tuesday. He will reappear before Cardenas-Ragoonanan on February 17.
