Problem: Cascade resident Christian de Verteuil said: "I applied in May 2012 to have a situation rectified for my employee, Ms Olive Grosvenor."I presented my case to have a settlement made for backdated NIS contributions to a relevant NIB manager at Abercromby Street, Port-of-Spain, and subsequently an investigator spent some time with Ms Grosvenor."Mr de Verteuil said since then, nothing has happened and at present Ms Grosvenor is very ill and unable to work.
Solution: NIB said Ms Grosvenor's application for sickness benefit was processed and authorised by the Port-of-Spain Service Centre on January 23, so she should expect payment by the end of January.Mr De Verteuil was contacted on January 24, with respect to his query as a domestic employer by an authorised officer in charge of Cascade.
