Grants for 47 home-owners
Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal has promised equitable distribution of services to all sectors of the national community. Moonilal was speaking at a distribution ceremony at Debe Community Centre on Tuesday, where 47 homeowners received home-improvement grants. They are worth $15,000 but are given out in two tranches. Thirty-two homeowners received the first tranche and 15 received their second tranche.
Moonilal said the ministry remained committed to being a more service-oriented institution, focused on providing an equitable distribution of services to all sectors. Acknowledging that the grants might not satisfy 100 per cent of their needs, he said it would be of significant value in getting them started. Moonilal, who is also the MP for the area, promised to assist in putting in fans or an air-conditioning unit at the centre.
