Three men, ages 18, 19 and 20, all from the Carapo area, have been arrested and are assisting police in connection with the shooting death of fellow Carapo resident James Granderson who was gunned down on Wednesday.
The suspects were held by members of the Northern Division Task Force under the supervision of Senior Supt David Abraham. Two were arrested shortly after the murder and the third man was held on Thursday. Granderson, of Peters Avenue, Carapo, was killed around 7 am after the gunmen entered his home and started shooting at him.An autopsy showed he had been shot five times, three times in the head at close range.
The report suggested that Granderson was first struck in the back and collapsed as he tried to climb a chain link fence. While he lay on the ground the gunmen approached and shot him four more times.Meanwhile, the man of African descent who was found dead in an abandoned lot at Mission Road, San Juan, is yet to be identified. The man, who was found wearing a T-shirt with an American flag and a pair of blue jeans, had a Rastafarian hairstyle.
Police believed he was shot in the head but an autopsy revealed he died from a single stab wound to the neck. After being stabbed, he fell face first, hitting his head when he landed, which led crime scene experts to believe he was shot.
