PM off to Florida for funeral

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar left at 12.30 pm yesterday for Ft Lauderdale, United States, on private business to attend the funeral of a family member, according to the Office of the Prime Minister. The release did not reveal the identity of the relative. Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Dookeran is acting as Prime Minister until her return on Thursday evening, the release said.
Before flying out the Prime Minister met with several of her ministers and parliamentary colleagues at the diplomatic lounge at Piarco International Airport.
