Former president Arthur NR Robinson continues to be in a stable condition at the St Clair Medical Hospital, his daughter Ann Margaret said yesterday.Robinson, 87, was warded at the hospital last week Thursday after complaining of feeling unwell.Sources said last Friday his kidneys were the major concern but he was said to be rallying up to yesterday and was described as "seeming to be much better."
His daughter, who has been caring for him, also confirmed he continued to be in stable condition.Last Friday, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan visited Robinson, who was said to be "responsive," squeezing the PM's hand in acknowledgement of her presence. Persad-Bissessar said he was alert, though weak.Both Persad-Bissessar and the Inter Religious Organisation have called for prayers for Robinson.In recent years, the former president and prime minister's health has deteriorated, including visual and auditory impairment, and difficulty in walking. He was in and out of medical facilities up to last year.
