Fifteen-year-old Murchannah Lavia, who was shot dead by a male relative last week, will be buried today after a church service at the Petit Valley Pentecostal Church. The funeral service is expected to begin at 1 pm. Lavia, a Form Three student of Providence Girls’ High School, was shot dead last Thursday evening while reading a book at her home on Stoer Drive, Petit Valley. She died at the St James Medical Complex after being shot once in the chest around 8 pm, police reports stated. The teen relative who shot Lavia while he was playing with a loaded gun is still in custody assisting police with their investigations.
