A 24-year-old man remains warded in hospital after being shot several times while liming outside a bar at Brasso Seco Village, Paria, on Saturday night. According to police reports, around 10.45 pm Ancil Lambkin was liming at the bar near his home when he and a man got into a row.Eyewitnesses told police after the argument the man left, went to his car, returned with a shotgun and fired several shots at Lambkin.
The gunman then returned to his vehicle and drove away.Lambkin was taken to the Arima Health Facility where he was stabilised and then transfered to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope. He remains warded in a stable condition.Although Lambkin and eyewitnesses were able to identify his attacker, who is well known to police, investigators had not held the suspect up to late yesterday. Investigators believe the incident stems from a dispute the gunman has with Lambkin's family.

Two guns found in exercise
A 70-year-old pensioner was one of three men arrested on gun related offences during a police anti-crime exercise in Arima on Saturday. The exercise coordinated by Senior Supt David Abraham and Supt Daniel of the Northern Division began around 11.30 am and ended almost five hours later.During the exercise, the officers searched a house in Carapo Village, Arima and found a homemade shotgun and one cartridge.
The 70-year-old owner of the house was arrested and charged with arms and ammunition possession.The officers also seized another firearm when they stopped a vehicle while on patrol along the Blanchisseuse Road in Arima.The two occupants, a 20-year-old from Calvary Hill, Arima and a 30-year-old Blanchisseuse resident were arrested after a loaded .380 pistol with six rounds of ammunition was found hidden in the car. The two men and the pensioner are expected appear before an Arima magistrate today.
Workers electrocuted on job site
Two construction workers were electrocuted at a job site in El Socorro yesterday morning.Police said around 2.30 pm three construction workers were installing concrete moulding around windows at a three story building at the corner of Boundary Road and Hosein Street in El Socorro when the ladder they were standing on slipped and came into contact with a high tension wire attached to a nearby utility pole.
Richard Ramsundar, 36, and Joseph Goolaram, 26, both of Clarke Road, Charlieville, Chaguanas, who were both said to be barefoot, were electrocuted and died on the scene.The third construction worker, who was wearing boots and safety equipment, only sustained minor injuries from the fall off the ladder.Sgt Anslem Hosein of the Barataria Police is continuing investigations.
