Relatives of Wayne Smart, said they want another autopsy on his body after one conducted yesterday revealed that he died as a result of a fall.The family were convinced yesterday at the Forensic Science Centre, St James that police were covering up the murder of their relative.Smart, 44, of Katwaroo Branch Trace, Penal succumbed to head injuries at 6.15 am, Saturday at the San Fernando General Hospital.
According to police reports, Smart's wife returned home around 8.30 pm and found him outside the house, and he appeared to be drunk. The woman told police she went to sleep and woke up two hours later to check on him.Smart's sister, Sylvia Soogrim, said the family was informed that Smart had fallen and was bleeding from an injury. The relatives said they found it curious that a bloodied piece of wood was found some distance away from where Smart was found. They added that Smart's clothing was changed and "the area washed down". They plan to have a second independent autopsy done.
