2 shot dead in Maraval, Caroni
Two men are now dead following two separate shooting incidents in Caroni and Maraval between Wednesday night and yesterday afternoon. In the most recent killing, Roy “Monsoon” Thomas, 31, of Dibe Road, Long Circular, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital after being shot in the head outside the Country Club, Maraval. Police reports are that around 2.30 pm Thomas was shot in the head by a gunman who escaped in a waiting vehicle.
In the second murder, 43-year-old watchman Michael Heeralal was found dead just outside his Ruby Lane, La Paille Village, Caroni, on Wednesday night. According to police reports Heeralal was discovered by residents shortly after they heard gunshots. He had been shot multiple times and collapsed and died in a drain. The watchman was on his way to work at the nearby Early Childhood Educational Centre construction site. Police have no motive for his killing.
