Problem: Arima resident Antar Baksh says he has been living at The Crossings on Tumpuna Road, which was marketed as an upscale gated community by Home Construction Ltd (HCL), since 2008.Mr Baksh said homeowners pay $665 per month to a subsidiary of HCL, called Santa Rosa West, to manage and maintain the development.

He said, "About two months ago a leak developed in the middle of my driveway. To the best of my knowledge there were no underground water lines leading to my house, as those previously there had burst two years ago and new connections had to be run to the entire house."During the time taken to find a contractor to come and fix my problem, the leak gushed more water and the tiles in my driveway started breaking. Even the sand under the driveway had been eroded."

Mr Baksh said the line that was repaired was "barely two feet below the surface.""These problems are not unique to me as many other homeowners still have and have experienced the same problems."Mr Baksh said he e-mailed Richard Le Blanc, as well as Sally-Ann Grant, of Santa Rosa West Ltd, informing them of the matter, and "to date, neither of them has responded to me."

Mr Baksh said he wants to be compensated for the money he spent repairing the leak, as "the contractor cost me $2,000 and I estimate the re-tiling work to be around $5,000."

Solution: The Guardian Angel contacted Ms Grant about Mr Baksh's case and was told that Mr Le Blanc is aware of the matter. Ms Grant said she will be liaising with Mr Baksh and Mr Le Blanc will address the situation as soon as possible.

Problem: Jason King said he has been searching for an agent for Libby's Corned Beef to complain.Mr King said, "While preparing a tin of corned beef, a white, rubber-like, skin-like material was found in the can."I kept it as proof as this was rather upsetting to me. I can't determine what this rubber thing is and I am asking for your assistance."

Solution: The distributor for Libby's Corn Beef in T&T is Geddes Grant, at Lot 3, Macoya Industrial Estate. The company's telephone contact is 645-1519. Mr King's complaint was relayed to the company and he can expect to hear from a Geddes Grant representative.
