Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani young woman who is an activist for rights of all girls to an education and a 2013 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, visited Tobago enjoyed lunch at Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort with a group of 26 people including her family, delegates from The University of T&T, Eason Jordan, director of operations and communications of the Malala Fund, and Megan Smith, vice president of Google X.

"We are honoured to have Malala Yousafzai at Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort today. She is an inspiration around the world and her visit to Tobago will undoubtedly encourage the youth of our country to overcome any challenges," said Bernard Sarme, general manager of Magdalena Grand.

"We hope she enjoys the beauty of our country as she visits key tourism spots and shares her experiences of the destination on her global travels," Sarme added.

The group visited Buccoo Reef where Malala and her family–including parents Tor Pekai and Ziauddin Yousafzai, and two brothers, Apal Khan Yousafzai and Khushal Khan Yousafzai–enjoyed a sea bath for the first time.

During my consultation with Ms Brafit CEO Nicole Joseph-Chin, what was supposed to be a simple mastectomy bra fitting became something much deeper. Her thoughtful questions unlocked emotions I didn’t even realise I was holding in. She comforted, reassured, and helped me face the truth of what was coming. That bra wasn’t just clothing—it was the first real symbol of life after surgery.
