Windward Islands under watch for tropical system by Met Office
T&T is not under any tropical storm threat, watch or warning, though there may be locally heavy winds and rainfall as the system approaches, a release from the Met Office said.
A tropical system 1,000 km away from the Windward Islands has a seventy per cent chance of becoming a tropical depression. If the system develops, it will be the second named system of the 2014 hurricane season.
A Hurricane Hunter Aircraft is expected to investigate the system later today.
The Met Office will continue to give updates via its website, www.metoffice.gov.tt/forecast or via its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Trinidad-and-Tobago-Meteorological-Service/270032093113015.
