A lawyer, a panman anda Human Resources professional will today seek to replace incumbent Dr Amery Browne as the People National Movement'sprospective candidate for Diego Martin Central.
Christian Chandler, Roger Watts and Shari Reynold were nominated to challenge Browne when the screening committee, chaired by party leader Dr Keith Rowley, meets at Balisier House, Port-of-Spain at5 pm.
Browne is expected to be considered but not screened. He was rejected with three other nominees on April 2.
PNM Secretary Ashton Ford told the Guardian that if none was successful a third round of screening for the constituency could be held.
Diego Martin Central is expected to be the last of the three constituencies to be determined today.
The screening committee will have to select a new prospective candidate for Chaguanas East after broadcaster Diane Baldeo-Chadeesingh withdrew her candidacy for personal reasons a few days ago. Chaguanas East was expected to be the first constituency to be screened today.
Barataria/San Juan is expected to be the second constituency to be determined. It is the third thime the committee will be trying to find a candidate for that seat. On the two previous occasions all the nominated candidates were rejected.
The PNM has already selected the prospective candidates for the other 38 constituencies.
Generalelection are constitutionally due by September.
