Provisions are being made for CSEC students from the Chaguanas South Secondary School to sit their exams in another school. The Ministry of Education announced this today in a press release.
Yesterday a small fire damaged three pre-fabricated classrooms at the compound.
The building, which is located at the back of the school, accommodated approximately 90 Form Five students.
The fire started at about11.25 amand the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) was contacted immediately.They responded within minutes and quickly extinguished the blaze. Both staff and students were safely evacuated and there were no injuries reported.
The Ministry of Education stated that alternative arrangements have been made at neighbouring Chaguanas North Secondary School for students writing the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations.
The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) is continuing investigations into the cause of the fire.
