The headless body retrieved from a plastic barrel along the Mitan River, Manzanilla around 9.15pm on Tuesday was identified today.
Eden Nekeisha Teesdale from Embacadere, San Fernando was identified because of fingerprints obtained when the victim applied for a certificate of character in July 2012.
Teesdale was employed as a cleaner at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope.
The Police and Coast Guard are still searching for the victim's head.
Manzanilla police were alerted to the discovery of the dismembered body by a fisherman who reported to have observed what appeared to be a foot protruding from a blue barrel.
Homicide detectives continue with their investigations.
