The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard is hoping that it's second time charm as they try to auction off their Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) TTS Nelson CG20.
Last November the Coast Guard tried unsuccessfully to auction off the vessel for $800,000.
Prospective buyers claimed it would cost millions to return the vessel to a state of seaworthiness.
However, a second attempt is now being made with the deadline schedulded for July 28.
The Island Class OPV can be viewed at the Coast Guard's headquarters on weekdays between 9 am to 2 pm.
The vessel will be sold "as is where is" with the purchaser being responsible for the removal of the vessel.
The 70-ft vessel, was originally built as a war vessel for the Royal Navy.
It was commissioned in 2001 and was used for 15 years by the Coast Guard.
However following the commissioning of three Long Range Patrol vessels last August the TTS Nelson CG20 was removed from service.
Several gun mounts from the vessel were removed in preparation for sale.
TTS Nelson CG20 is a 70 metre long vessel with the capacity to hold about 60 persons for long trips out at sea.
It is outfitted with several kitchens, dormitories and recreation rooms and has space and equipment on board for cold storage.
Bid forms can be obtained from the Central Tenders Board's Office located at 116 Frederick Street, Port-of-Spain.
Envelopes must be placed in the brown tenders box located at the Central tenders Board's office before 1 pm on July 28.
Bids will be opened shortly thereafter and the bidder or an authorised representative may be present at the opening.
Late offers will not be considered in any circumstances.
