Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar says she wrote to the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) on Tuesday, to query over 43,000 duplicate names on the voting list for the Local Government elections.
She said up until yesterday, she had received no answer but had received word that several people had gotten duplicate ballots.
In her final words at the final United National Congress (UNC) rally before the elections tomorrow, Persad-Bissessar told supporters to be vigilant in light of mishaps by the EBC.
"Last year, we filed election petitions because we believed the EBC had acted against the law when they extended the time. The Court of Appeal, the lower court and the Court of Appeal ruled the EBC had no power in law to break the rules, now I am asking you to be exceedingly vigilant on Monday," she said.
Persad-Bissessar said earlier this week she was forced to instruct the general secretary of the UNC to write the EBC to complain that the EBC had published the list of candidates and had put UNC candidates with the symbol of the PNM.
"They had spelt the names wrong for some of our candidates and I say don't look for names or spellings, look for the rising sun."
She said she was told that last election some people had their ballots taken from them and did not personally witness them placed in the ballot box.
Persad-Bissessar also said she saw a photo circulating on blogs of a government minister with a woman who works for the returning officer of the EBC in the Siparia Regional Corporation.
"Be vigilant in Siparia. They boasting all over the country they will beat Kamla in Siparia."
She added that the EBC had made a last-minute change to polling stations in Chaguanas, moving specific polling stations of the Felicity/Endeavour division from the Montrose Vedic Primary School to Presentation College.
Persad-Bissessar also responded to comments from Rowley that he would be accused of domestic violence tomorrow as he would beat her at the polls.
"There will be no domestic violence on Monday because Kamla will put the biggest licking on Rowley that he ever had," she said.
