Twenty-two persons were arrested, while two firearms, quantities of ammunition and one bulletproof vest were seized Thursday during a joint anti-crime exercise named ‘Golden Tombstone’ in Las Cuevas, La Fillette and Maracas Bay.
Police say the exercise, supervised by ACP (Ag) Forde and Snr Supt. (Ag) Phillip, was conducted between 1 am and 9 am.

It included officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and the Customs and Excise Division.
During the exercise, officers held 22 persons for various offenses, including possession of firearm and ammunition.

The officers also seized one Mac-10 pistol loaded with 20 rounds of ammunition, one shotgun along with nine 12-gauge cartridges and one bulletproof vest.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
