A San Juan man was killed on Monday as he crossed the Priority Bus Route (PBR), Croisee, San Juan.
The victim was identified as Zwadie James, 43, of Sou Sou Lands, Laventille Road, Febeau Village, San Juan.
Reports indicate a 61-year-old maxi driver of Arima, had been proceeding east in his red band maxi taxi around 2 pm on September 22 – when upon reaching
the San Juan Promenade, the victim allegedly darted from north to south across the road and into the path of the maxi.
Stopping immediately to render assistance, the driver contacted the Emergency Health Services who arrived and found the victim lifeless.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene and ordered James’s body removed to the Forensic Science Centre, St James.
