The Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice has is­sued an Ad­verse Weath­er Alert (Yel­low Lev­el) in ef­fect from 12.01 pm to 7.01 pm to­day.

The Met Of­fice said there is a 60 per cent chance of thun­der­storm ac­tiv­i­ty linked to low-lev­el con­ver­gence. Heavy rain­fall is ex­pect­ed, with the pos­si­bil­i­ty of street and flash flood­ing, lo­calised pond­ing and land­slips.

Gusty winds may al­so ac­com­pa­ny heavy show­ers and thun­der­storms.

Res­i­dents and mo­torists in flood and land­slip-prone ar­eas are be­ing urged to re­main alert, avoid cross­ing flood wa­ters, and mon­i­tor of­fi­cial up­dates from the Met Of­fice.
