Adverse Weather Alert in effect for T&T

Trinidad and To­ba­go is now un­der an Ad­verse Weath­er Alert (Yel­low Lev­el), go­ing in­to ef­fect for the coun­try at 10:00 AM Wednes­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease from the Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice (TTMS):

"A band of con­ver­gence to the east of To­ba­go is ex­pect­ed to be en­hanced by favourable at­mos­pher­ic fea­tures and gen­er­ate broad ar­eas of mod­er­ate to heavy show­ers as well as well as oc­ca­sion­al thun­der­storms. Rain­fall over the past few days has re­sult­ed in sat­u­rat­ed soils in some ar­eas, par­tic­u­lar­ly NE To­ba­go and north­ern Trinidad."

The alert will re­main in ef­fect un­til 4:00 PM for North-East­ern To­ba­go and North­ern Trinidad.

The TTMS al­so warned that there is the pos­si­bil­i­ty of land­slides in the af­fect­ed ar­eas.
