Two men who went to buy mar­i­jua­na were in­volved in an al­ter­ca­tion which led to them be­ing shot to death at Har­mo­ny Hall in Gas­par­il­lo, last night, po­lice said.

Po­lice con­firmed that Joshua Williams, 36, a labour­er of Praim Street, Di­a­mond Vil­lage, La Ro­maine died at the scene, to­geth­er with the oth­er vic­tim who is be­lieved to be 39-year-old man from Williams' neigh­bour­hood.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors are yet to con­firm his name.

Po­lice in­quires re­vealed that around 7 pm, the men were lim­ing at First Street, Har­mo­ny Hall with oth­er peo­ple in­clud­ing a 17-year-old boy.

They then went to an area near Light Pole 6 to pur­chase mar­i­jua­na from a man.

How­ev­er, the men had an al­ter­ca­tion with an­oth­er man, fol­low­ing which loud ex­plo­sions were heard.

Both men col­lapsed and sub­se­quent­ly died.  An­oth­er man, said to be 20 years old, who was parked near­by in a black Hatch­back Nis­san Ti­i­da, re­port­ed­ly got out of the car and ran when he heard the gun­shots.

When he re­turned, he saw the win­dows of the right side front and back doors of the ve­hi­cle shat­tered.  In ad­di­tion, the rear wind­shield of the ve­hi­cle was shat­tered and three large stones were found in­side the car.

PCs Soogrim and Pha­goo were on mo­bile pa­trol in Gas­par­il­lo when they re­spond­ed to the call around 7:30 pm.  The of­fi­cers cor­doned off the area. 

Williams suf­fered gun­shot wounds to face while the sec­ond vic­tim (still to be iden­ti­fied) had wounds to his chest.

Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer Dr Ra­j­nar­i­nesingh ex­am­ined the bod­ies and or­dered their re­moval to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal Mor­tu­ary pend­ing post-mortems at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre.

Po­lice say Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tors re­cov­ered three spent 9 mm cal­i­bre cas­ings at the scene.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of in­ves­ti­ga­tions (Re­gion Three), San Fer­nan­do CID and Gas­par­il­lo Po­lice Sta­tion vis­it­ed the scene.
