The American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago (AMCHAM T&T) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with FuturePlus, a United Kingdom-based sustainability management and ESG reporting platform.
The agreement was formalised during Part II of AMCHAM T&T’s 2025 ESG Conference: People, Purpose & Progress – Activating the “S” in ESG, held at the Hyatt Regency, Port of Spain, on September 16. The conference brought together business leaders, policymakers, and civil society representatives to examine how the “S” in ESG can influence workplaces, communities, and long-term planning.
The MOU provides AMCHAM T&T members access to the FuturePlus platform at discounted rates. The platform enables companies, investors, and asset managers to measure, manage, and report on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance across five themes: climate, environment, social, economic, and diversity and inclusion.
Through this arrangement, companies of varying sizes will be able to integrate sustainability into their operations while tracking progress and communicating outcomes.
Chief Executive Officer of AMCHAM T&T, Nirad Tewarie, said the partnership moves ESG discussions toward practical implementation. “ESG is central to building stronger companies, healthier societies, and more resilient economies. By equipping our members with access to a practical tool like FuturePlus, we are helping them understand where they are, set clear targets, track progress, and deliver on their commitments to people, purpose, and planet. This will not only improve competitiveness but also position Trinidad and Tobago as a leader in sustainable business practices.”
Chief Executive Officer of FuturePlus, Alex Smith, said the partnership aligns with the organisation’s mission. “At FuturePlus, our mission is to make sustainability accessible, measurable, and actionable for organisations of all sizes. Through this partnership, we will provide AMCHAM T&T and its members with the tools and insights needed to effectively manage and track their ESG performance.”
The collaboration underscores AMCHAM T&T’s wider advocacy on ESG and its aim to equip members with resources to adapt to international business standards.
