More than 100 angry customers voiced their disgust and demanded immediate help after waiting for hours to collect their goods at the Plipdeco warehouse at Point Lisas on Tuesday.

While this has become the norm at the port, customers of all ages, including a pregnant woman and the elderly, lost their cool.

A San Fernando resident, who arrived at the port at 6 am, said, "People got very angry they started to cuss and get on, it nearly had war this morning. Someone from Plipdeco came out afterwards after somebody said they were calling CNC3...and he (official) came down here and he said he will attend to everybody today."

He said a lot of people came from 4 am and some of them were also there the previous day.

"The problem is the system that they using to send people into the offices. There are people here who were here the day before, they come back today and they waiting and waiting."

He said some of them who were there on Monday became even more frustrated when their names could not be found on the Monday's list. He called on the authorities to change the existing system.

"They need to have a system similar to what is being used by the Immigration Division where you are given a date."

With Christmas just weeks away, he predicted that there will be more chaos in the coming days

Housewife Debra Bhagwandeen, 57, said people not only have to endure the frustration in collecting their goods, but also have to pay a lot of money for storage.

"I don't understand what is going on here and then you have other people who coming handing in their paperwork and getting through," she complained.

She said it is unfair to everyone, especially people who come from far places and are turned back.

An official from Plipdeco requested that questions be emailed to them, but up to press time, a response was not forthcoming.
