ANSA Merchant Bank, a member of the ANSA McAL Group, partnered with the Chaguanas Borough Corporation on Friday to distribute hampers to 50 needy people and families throughout the borough. Mayor Vandana Mohit said the move by the ANSA McAL group was most welcomed since many people have had little to eat due to the lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mohit said people are still feeling the brunt of COVID-19 even though we have been able to flatten the curve in T&T. "We still have persons who are in need, single mothers, persons who have lost their jobs, families who have many children and cannot afford to look after them at this point," she said.
Anand Ramlal, spokesman for ANSA Merchant Bank said they have reached out to people across north and south Trinidad to bring some measure of relief.
