Anti-crime operation in Southern Division results in arrest and drug seizure

An an­ti-crime op­er­a­tion con­duct­ed in the South­ern Di­vi­sion ear­li­er to­day re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of one in­di­vid­ual and the seizure of a quan­ti­ty of il­le­gal drugs and am­mu­ni­tion.

The co­or­di­nat­ed ex­er­cise took place be­tween the hours of 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Wednes­day, May 15th, 2025. It was led by Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Rod­hill Kirk, Su­per­in­ten­dent Singh, In­spec­tor Wilkin­son, and Cor­po­ral Nanan, with sup­port from mem­bers of the South­ern Di­vi­sion Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (CID) Op­er­a­tions Unit.

Sev­er­al ar­eas known for drug-re­lat­ed ac­tiv­i­ty were tar­get­ed dur­ing the op­er­a­tion, lead­ing to the search of mul­ti­ple per­sons and lo­ca­tions.

As a re­sult, of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed a 24-year-old man of Charles Street, Mara­bel­la. He is ex­pect­ed to be charged with the fol­low­ing of­fences:

Pos­ses­sion of Am­mu­ni­tion (10 rounds of 9mm)

Pos­ses­sion of Co­caine for the Pur­pose of Traf­fick­ing (513 grams)

Pos­ses­sion of Cannabis for the Pur­pose of Traf­fick­ing (1080 grams)

As­sault­ing a Po­lice Of­fi­cer

Re­sist­ing Ar­rest

Of­fer­ing a Bribe

Use of Ob­scene Lan­guage
