A public campaign against the continued leadership of UNC leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has started.
This was confirmed by UNC activist Devant Maharaj yesterday after a medium-sized billboard was put up on Friday night at a location on the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway near Aranguez protesting Persad-Bissessar’s leadership.
It states: Thank You Kamla. Time to Go. 11 losses in a row.”
Maharaj who has been leading calls for Persad-Bissesasr to step down as the party’s political leader since the UNC lost the August 10 general election, added: “ This is the first and it’s a continuation of the building of a wave of sentiment from various quarters across Trinidad and Tobago to save the UNC. More billboards will be put up acros Trinidad and Tobago.”
“Many people are willing to finance this and they’re all being screened to ensure there is no PNM input in this. This is UNC people trying to save their party,” Maharaj said.
