Police are searching for a man who broke into a poultry depot in Arima on Tuesday evening but fled the scene, leaving behind his wallet and identification card.
Officers said the shop’s owner received a call from his landlord at 6.55 pm, informing him that someone had broken into the Tumpuna Road businessplace and damaged a point-of-sale printer, eggs and a cutting machine.
The landlord reportedly confronted the bandit, who ran off and dropped his wallet containing his national ID card.
When Arima police arrived, they found evidence that the man had tried unsuccessfully to cut a lock on the burglar-proofing.
