Two men from Maloney and Piarco were robbed on Thursday afternoon by bandits who promised a Nissan Tiida for sale in Barataria.
Police said the men, ages 32 and 44 years, responded to a Facebook Marketplace advertisement and were led to Ninth Avenue to meet someone claiming to have the vehicle.
When they reached near a dead end, three bandits, one of whom was armed with a gun, confronted them.
The men were ordered to lie on the road, and their mobile phones and wallets were stolen.
The bandits also took a Nissan Wingroad belonging to one of the victims and escaped in the stolen car.
Morvant police are investigating, with support from the Cyber Crime Unit.
