Two men from Mal­oney and Pi­ar­co were robbed on Thurs­day af­ter­noon by ban­dits who promised a Nis­san Ti­i­da for sale in Barataria.

Po­lice said the men, ages 32 and 44 years, re­spond­ed to a Face­book Mar­ket­place ad­ver­tise­ment and were led to Ninth Av­enue to meet some­one claim­ing to have the ve­hi­cle.

When they reached near a dead end, three ban­dits, one of whom was armed with a gun, con­front­ed them.

The men were or­dered to lie on the road, and their mo­bile phones and wal­lets were stolen.

The ban­dits al­so took a Nis­san Wingroad be­long­ing to one of the vic­tims and es­caped in the stolen car.

Mor­vant po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing, with sup­port from the Cy­ber Crime Unit.
