Just under one mile from the West End Police Station, eight people were robbed of their money and valuables by bandits at the Diego Martin Central Community Centre.
Both buildings are located along Wendy Fitzwilliam Boulevard.
Guardian Media understands that three of the victims were conducting sales, while the others were either purchasing or socializing.
According to reports, around midnight on Saturday, all the victims were on the compound of the Diego Martin Central Community Centre when a gold Nissan Almera drove in.
Four armed bandits wearing masks and bandanas exited the vehicle and announced a robbery. The driver remained inside the car.
The bandits robbed two employees of Wing It of cash and a ten-inch tablet.
They also took the car key of a Nissan AD Wagon from a 63-year-old woman.
The four robbers stole $1,000 and a purple iPhone 11 valued at $1,700 from a 30-year-old man.
The owner of Crusin Cuisine and his family also were robbed. Items taken included six gold rings, a pair of gold earrings, a lion head gold ring valued at $1,000, and a gold chain with a crystal stone valued at $500.
The bandits also took an A-22-cellphone from a 15-year-old girl.
After taking the items, the assailants re-entered the vehicle, drove out of the compound, turned east onto Wendy Fitzwilliam Boulevard, then south onto St. Lucien Road, and escaped.
The scene was photographed and processed by officers; however, no usable fingerprints were found.
Investigations are ongoing.
