A 51-year-old Beetham man is being treated for a gunshot wound he sustained after an argument with another man in his neighbourhood on Thursday night.
Police said the man was outside his home on 22nd Street at 8 pm when he got into an argument with another man from the neighbourhood.
After the argument, the man returned home, but was followed inside by the suspect, who fought with him.
The man fled his home and ran towards the Priority Bus Route when he heard a gunshot and felt a stinging sensation on the right side of his neck, before collapsing on Main Street, Beetham.
An ambulance was called in and took the wounded man to the hospital.
Officers of the Port of Spain Area East CID and the Inter Agency Task Force Duncan Street Post visited the scene.
Investigations are ongoing.
