RAD­HI­CA DE SIL­VA

A body found in San Raphael is be­lieved to be that of Sir Ja­mal Ram­per­sad, who was re­port­ed miss­ing last Wednes­day.

The body was found near the area where Ram­per­sad’s phone was ear­li­er dis­cov­ered.

Ram­per­sad’s fam­i­ly, who live at Loth­i­ans Road, Princes Town, were un­will­ing to speak when Guardian Me­dia vis­it­ed their home yes­ter­day.

Cap­tain of the Hunters Search and Res­cue team Val­lence Ramb­harat said Ram­per­sad was last seen at Lush Restau­rant and Bar in Curepe be­tween 6 pm and 9 pm.

He was wear­ing a white shirt, white three-quar­ter pants and Air Jor­dan sneak­ers. Rel­a­tives said Ram­per­sad went to meet a woman he knew through In­sta­gram. He was seen in her com­pa­ny.

Ac­cord­ing to rel­a­tives, Ram­per­sad told his fam­i­ly he would arrange a ride share to re­turn home, but it is un­cer­tain what hap­pened next. When he failed to re­turn home, he was lat­er re­port­ed miss­ing.

An au­top­sy is sched­uled to be done to­day. Po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
