Point Fortin police are investigating the death of a seven-year-old boy who was crushed by a car at his home on Friday.
Reports state that around 3.30 pm, Jaydon Tyson, a pupil of the Egypt Village Primary School, was playing in the yard of his Warner Road, Egypt Village home with his five-year-old brother. A Nissan B-14 that was parked on an incline began to reverse and crashed into him, pinning him against a wall. His feet and head were severely damaged and he died on the scene. Relatives declined to speak yesterday.
Police said the children were at home with their 71-year-old grandfather and were playing in the yard. He told police he was alerted by a loud sound and when he rushed out saw Jaydon behind the car. Police said one of the children was found in the car.
However, villagers said they heard that three children were playing in the car and when it started to reverse, Jaydon jumped out and attempted to push it. The car was impounded at the Point Fortin Police Station. - KF
