Attorney Ronald Boynes who was chastised by Prime Minister Keith Rowley' as one day being in the People's National Movement (PNM) and another day being in the United National Congress (UNC) will be filing his nomination today to challenge Rowley for the leadership of the PNM.
Boynes issued notice that he will be speaking on it later today.
He joins former PNM Minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira in challenging Rowley for the party's leadership.
Rowley signalled recently that he is fulfilling the five year mandate he received in 2020.
Boynes unsuccessfully contested the PNM vice chairmanship in 2018, among some from the Manning led PNM who contested that year as independent candidates.
Boynes was chastised by Rowley on the campaign trail then.
Boynes is the brother of Roger Boynes a former minister in the Manning administration where Nunez-Tesheira also served.
