The calypso fraternity is mourning the passing of legendary calypsonian Donrick Williamson, known as Funny.
The veteran humourous calypsonian passed away at his home last night after a long a battle with cancer.
Known for his hits such as 'Funny Win The Lotto' and 'Accident Policy', Funny was a trail blazer who perfected the art of humourous calypsos.
This year he was honoured by the national action cultural committee during the young kings competition.
Chairman of TUCO North Zone Mark ‘Contender’ John shared remembered Funny was a good person whom he “never heard use obscene language”. The ‘Young and Restless’ singer added Funny “Came the closest to (calypsonian) Spoiler’s work in terms of creativity”. Funny was 84.
