One man has been arrested and a revolver and quantities of ammunition and marijuana found, by officers of the Central Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Chaguanas and Carapichaima districts.
The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Inraj Balram, coordinated by ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith and supervised by Sgt. Allan Jodhan, took place between 10 am and 9 pm, on Thursday and included officers of the Central Special Crime Unit, Longdenville Police Post, the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit and the Canine Branch.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to Roopsingh Road, Carapichaima, around 3 pm, where they executed a search warrant at the home of a 29- year-old man, which resulted in 1.1 kilogrammes of marijuana being discovered in a bedroom of the house.
The drug has an estimated street value of $11,000.
The suspect who was in the house at the time of the exercise was arrested in connection with the find.
Officers then proceeded to Kowlessar Drive, Chrissie Terrace, Enterprise, Chaguanas, around 6 pm, where they conducted a search of a bushy parcel of land.
The search resulted in a revolver, loaded with two rounds of .38mm ammunition being discovered.
Investigations are ongoing.
