A card game turned bloody af­ter gun­men killed one play­er and left an­oth­er nurs­ing gun­shot wounds in San Fer­nan­do yes­ter­day morn­ing. The de­ceased has been iden­ti­fied as Wayde Paul, 43, al­so called Bil­ly, a con­struc­tion work­er, of San Fer­nan­do Street. Ac­cord­ing to a re­port, around 1.50 am Paul and four oth­er men were play­ing cards in a yard at San Fer­nan­do Street when two gun­men ran up to them and opened fire. Af­ter the as­sailants ran off, Paul's life­less body was found in a drain. An­oth­er man Alex Kir­ton, 23, of San Fer­nan­do, suf­fered in­juries to his mouth and back and was rushed to the hos­pi­tal. Of­fi­cers of the San Fer­nan­do po­lice and Homi­cide Bu­reau Re­gion 3 are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.­—Sascha Wil­son

Woman gang-raped in home in­va­sion

A woman was gang-raped by four as­sailants dur­ing a home in­va­sion while her hus­band was beat­en with a ham­mer yes­ter­day morn­ing. The sus­pects es­caped in the cou­ple's

$87,000 AD wag­on and made off with their ducks and goats. They were asleep around 1.15 am when they heard shouts of "po­lice, po­lice, open the door." Then they heard a loud crash­ing sound. The cou­ple was con­front­ed by the men, one was armed with a gun. The man was struck about the body with a ham­mer and then tied up. The men then sex­u­al­ly as­sault­ed the woman. They es­caped in the cou­ple's ve­hi­cle, tak­ing with them their flatscreen tele­vi­sion, wa­ter heater, jew­el­ry, cell phone, weed whack­er, cash, three goats and six ducks. Man suc­cumbs to gun­shot wounds

A 28-year-old man who was shot yes­ter­day morn­ing at Febeau Vil­lage in San Juan has died at hos­pi­tal.

The vic­tim has been iden­ti­fied as Don­nelle Shel­don De Fre­itas, al­so known as Jon­am, of Har­ris Hill, Laven­tille Road, Febeau Vil­lage, San Juan.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 5:45 am of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force re­spond­ed to a re­port of gun­shots at La Hoe Road, Laven­tille Road.

Up­on ar­rival, of­fi­cers saw a man ly­ing on the road­way with mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds about the body. He was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex but af­ter un­der­go­ing emer­gency treat­ment De Fre­itas was pro­nounced dead.

Po­lice said he was shot in the left tem­ple and about the face caus­ing se­vere den­tal trau­ma and sus­tained in­juries to both left and right hands.
