A Carenage man was gunned down on Friday night close to his home.
Identified as Ronald “Blackie” Paul, the 34-year-old unemployed man of L'Anse Mitan Road was reportedly shot around 8 pm on September 20.
Officers responding to a report of loud explosions discovered Paul’s body lying on the road behind a parked car.
He had been shot in the head.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene and ordered the removal of the body.
Several hours later, three other men from the same street were shot in what police claimed was a related matter.
Around 11.30 pm, Ricardo Marksman, 33 and his brother Jason Marksman, 35, along with Shernel Paul, 38 , were liming near a bridge close to their home when they were allegedly approached by a man from the area known to them who fired shots at them and then ran off.
The men were rushed to the St James Medical Complex where Ricardo was treated for wounds to his left hand and the right shoulder, while his brother sustained a wound to his left calf.
Paul, who had to undergo emergency surgery, sustained two gunshot wounds to the left side of his abdomen.
The three men were later transferred to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where they remain warded in stable conditions.
Investigations are continuing.
