Trinidad and Tobago's Minister of Education, Anthony Garcia, along with other Ministers of Education in the region, is meeting with the CARICOM Secretariat to discuss CXC’s Strategy for the administration of regional examinations.
According to a release from the education ministry, the concerns of parents, teachers and students over CXC exams will be addressed at the regional meeting, and a way forward will be determined by CARICOM education ministers.
The ministry says it is aware of several sources of misinformation circulating in the public domain, which it states have led to confusion among education stakeholders.
The ministry is advising citizens that any communication on the direction of the Ministry of Education during the COVID-19 pandemic will be available via its official channels and the Ministry of Communication. It says these channels should be the only points of reference used for valid information.
The Education Ministry assures that any decisions taken at the current CARICOM meeting, as well as policy decisions taken by the T&T government, will be shared soon with the national population.
