A Caroni man who withdrew $17,500 cash from the bank and placed it in his car, was robbed after he stopped to purchase items at the side of the road on the way home.
The 49-year-old sales representative, of Kelly Village, Caroni, conducted the transaction at a bank in Grand Bazaar, Valsayn, around noon on Thursday.
On the way home, the victim stopped at the Caroni roundabout, near the fish vendors, to purchase something and left the car unlocked.
It was reported that a suspect, who was in a white Nissan AD Wagon, entered the victim’s vehicle and took the envelope with the money, which was placed in the centre console, before walking back to his waiting car and escaping.
