A house in Coro­man­del Vil­lage, Ce­dros, was de­stroyed by fire on Sat­ur­day morn­ing.

Around 6 am, the oc­cu­pant was awak­ened by heat and saw that his bed and mat­tress were on fire. He tried to put out the flames with wa­ter, but the house was soon en­gulfed.

The wood­en and con­crete struc­ture mea­sured about 30 by 40 feet and was fit­ted with elec­tric­i­ty and wa­ter. It was not in­sured. All fur­ni­ture and house­hold items were lost.

Fire of­fi­cers re­spond­ed and ex­tin­guished the blaze. No one was in­jured.
