A house in Coromandel Village, Cedros, was destroyed by fire on Saturday morning.
Around 6 am, the occupant was awakened by heat and saw that his bed and mattress were on fire. He tried to put out the flames with water, but the house was soon engulfed.
The wooden and concrete structure measured about 30 by 40 feet and was fitted with electricity and water. It was not insured. All furniture and household items were lost.
Fire officers responded and extinguished the blaze. No one was injured.
