A half hour before the daily 9 pm curfew was due to go into effect on Friday, a Chaguanas proprietor was gunned down inside the parlour he operates out of his home.
Sherwin "Mooky" James, 34, of Enterprise Street, was shot several times about the body by an unknown assailant.
James's father, Clifton Riley reported hearing loud explosions coming from the parlour and upon checking, found his son lying face down in a pool of blood on the floor.
Police officers retrieved 15 9 mm spent shells at the scene.
No motive has as yet been established for the killing.
Investigations are continuing.
