The Ch­agua­nas Cham­ber of In­dus­try and Com­merce (CCIC) is tak­ing steps for Small and Mi­cro En­ter­pris­es (SMEs) to get a foothold in Guyana.

THE CCIC met with Mar­lon Joseph, Pres­i­dent & Founder of 'To­geth­er We Win Busi­ness Net­work' of George­town, Guyana, on Wednes­day for the sign­ing of a Mem­o­ran­dum of Un­der­stand­ing (MOU) be­tween both or­gan­i­sa­tions. The meet­ing took place at the CCIC's of­fices at Cum­ber­batch Street, Ch­agua­nas.

CCIC head Bal­dath Ma­haraj said some cham­ber mem­bers are al­ready en­gag­ing in busi­ness in Guyana. Ma­haraj said, "Now that we signed the MOU we would be get­ting more of our mem­bers in­volved in sup­ply­ing the Guyanese mar­ket."

Ma­haraj said the 'To­geth­er We Win Busi­ness Net­work' works to­wards cre­at­ing a sus­tain­able busi­ness econ­o­my by pro­vid­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties through in­no­v­a­tive col­lab­o­ra­tion, knowl­edge shar­ing and com­mu­ni­ty de­vel­op­ment.

Ma­haraj said, "This col­lab­o­ra­tion will be quite ben­e­fi­cial to our mem­bers since Guyana’s econ­o­my is grow­ing at a rapid pace and T&T can of­fer a lot to build their econ­o­my and stim­u­late over­all eco­nom­ic ac­tiv­i­ty for both coun­tries. Many busi­ness­es are al­ready do­ing busi­ness in Guyana and there is much that they can of­fer along the lines of trade and in­vest­ment as well as hu­man re­sources."
