Mem­bers of the Ju­di­cia­ry and the Cab­i­net have met to dis­cuss the ad­min­is­tra­tion of jus­tice in this coun­try.

An ex­ec­u­tive man­age­ment team from the Ju­di­cia­ry head­ed by the Chief Jus­tice met on Wednes­day with the Prime Min­is­ter and se­lect­ed mem­bers of the Cab­i­net to dis­cuss mat­ters per­tain­ing to the ad­min­is­tra­tion of jus­tice.

In a me­dia re­lease the Ju­di­cia­ry said the meet­ing ad­dressed ad­min­is­tra­tive and lo­gis­ti­cal strate­gies to bring those com­po­nents of the jus­tice sys­tem un­der the con­trol of sep­a­rate arms of the State in­to more ef­fec­tive align­ment and speed up jus­tice de­liv­ery.

It said sev­er­al im­me­di­ate in­ter­ven­tions were iden­ti­fied and agreed.

It added that the meet­ing end­ed with a com­mit­ment to meet pe­ri­od­i­cal­ly to en­sure that progress re­mains on course.
