Investigators say Claxton Bay lorry man Peter Joseph was questioned by his killers about the location of a gun before he was shot at his home.
His body was found on the road near his Riversdale Drive, Sum Sum Hill home on Thursday night shortly after he was accosted by the perpetrators.
Police officers discovered the 45-year-old’s body around 10.05 pm on the road after responding to a report of explosions at that address.
There was duct tape over Joseph’s mouth and tie straps were near his hands.
Police said Joseph was last seen around 9.40 pm relaxing in a hammock at the back of his home.
It is believed that sometime later he was accosted by several men who questioned him about the location of a gun. A struggle is believed to have ensued between Joseph and his killers before he was shot.
Police searched his house but did not find the firearms.
Investigators said Thursday night was not the first time that officers searched his home, as they received a report in the past that Joseph was in possession of two illegal guns and several raids were conducted.
Joseph lived with his common-law wife and children.
