Come forward! UNC makes call to interested citizens

The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress (UNC) is call­ing on all cit­i­zens who wish to make a dif­fer­ence in T&T, to come for­ward.

The par­ty is­sued the call fol­low­ing a joint cau­cus with its par­lia­men­tar­i­ans and Na­tion­al Ex­ec­u­tive held on Mon­day.

In a state­ment is­sued Tues­day, the UNC said that among the con­sen­sus de­ci­sions tak­en, is a de­ci­sion to hold a Na­tion­al As­sem­bly on Sun­day, 27th Jan­u­ary 2019 at Cou­va South Hall from 2 pm.

The UNC says that sev­er­al com­mit­tees were es­tab­lished to as­sist in pol­i­cy for­mu­la­tion and analy­sis and in­clud­ing the prepa­ra­tion of the UNC’s Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Man­i­festo.

The cau­cus al­so dis­cussed strate­gies and plans on deal­ing with is­sues be­fore the par­lia­ment in­clud­ing mo­tions call­ing on the gov­ern­ment to ac­count to the pop­u­la­tion, the UNC state­ment said.

Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment elec­tions are con­sti­tu­tion­al­ly due this year and gen­er­al elec­tions are to be held in 2020.
