The po­lice ser­vice con­duct­ed 84 an­ti-crime op­er­a­tions be­tween Sun­day and yes­ter­day as the State of Emer­gency con­tin­ued.

In a state­ment yes­ter­day, the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) said, “In the last 24 hours, a to­tal of 84 op­er­a­tions were con­duct­ed na­tion­wide, re­sult­ing in 23 ar­rests, 161 traf­fic of­fences de­tect­ed, and the seizure of two firearms, a ri­fle and a pis­tol and sev­er­al quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion.”

The TTPS said the op­er­a­tions spanned 12 di­vi­sions and tar­get­ed high-pri­or­i­ty of­fend­ers, crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ty hotspots, and ma­jor road­ways.

It said the South­ern Di­vi­sion record­ed the high­est num­ber of ar­rests, with 151 traf­fic op­er­a­tions con­duct­ed. The IATF, the TTPS said, al­so played a sig­nif­i­cant role, con­tribut­ing to the firearm seizures.

Up to yes­ter­day, 160 ar­rests had been made since the start of the SoE.
